MERRA (Mahurangi East Residents Ratepayers Association) have agreed to working bees to weed release a block of natives planted 2 years ago on the new (as yet unopened) Mahurangi East Regional Park. This activity is a consent requirement by Council for the Mahurangi River dredging project. The planting and 1st year release has been completed. 3 more years of Spring releasing are required by Council. We plan to email details (what to bring, access and where to go, etc ) to any volunteers but are trying to take advantage of wet ground.
