About the event
This is a community celebration marking 50 years of Te Hāwere-a-Maki Goat Island, New Zealand’s first marine reserve, right in the heart of Leigh. It’s an opportunity for locals, visitors, organisations, artists, schools and conservation groups to come together and honour half a century of protecting this iconic marine treasure.
