The Ngāti Manuhiri Settlement Trust are hosting an introductory cultural induction for community members who are involved with environmental conservation projects in the Rodney area.
The intention of the cultural induction is to share introductory considerations for engagement with Ngāti Manuhiri and working within their rohe, including:
Ways of knowing/Traditional names.
An introduction to Te Ao Māori – Māori world view – understanding the importance of understanding history (how iwi/hapu came to be) connection, and connection to Māori gods.
Understanding the extent of Ngāti Manuhiri’s rohe area.
