Pest Free Leigh Planting Day – Matheson Bay

Pest Free Leigh warmly invites the community to roll up their sleeves and join a special planting day at the bottom of Matheson Bay Road on Saturday 13 June 2026.

With 600 carefully selected native plants supplied by Auckland Council, this planting will help restore and enhance the local coastal environment. The plants will be supported with nutrient-rich kina compost from the Te Kohuroa Rewilding Initiative—giving them the best possible start.

We’re aiming for around 30 planters and 10–12 hole diggers on the day. If digging isn’t your thing, contributions of morning tea treats for our hardworking volunteers would be greatly appreciated.
