Traps ready to go!
Vehicle boot loaded with wooden trap boxes, ready to expand the trapping network for Pest Free ME.

This week, Pest Free Mahurangi East (PFME) took possession of 30 new DOC 200 traps destined for use in public spaces across our region.

These traps are a vital part of our mission to protect native wildlife and restore biodiversity, and their arrival marks another big step forward. We extend a heartfelt tēnā koutou to our incredible supporters:

  • Auckland Council, for the funding that made this possible

  • Connovation, for supplying the DOC 200s

  • The Menz Shed Warkworth, who built the boxes and carefully fitted and calibrated each mechanism

  • Warkworth Engravers, for providing the stencil to help identify and track these traps

Now it’s time to get them out there—protecting our birds, restoring our ngahere, and bringing our communities closer to a pest-free Mahurangi East.

Stay tuned and thank you for your support!
