Takatu Wetland Restoration Group are a community conservation group with a focus to restore the Takatu Wetland which Auckland Council has listed as a significant ecological area.

First steps on this ecological restoration project are eradication of the invasive spiky rushwhich contributes to silting up waterways. Followed by planting to help prevent run-off from surrounding pasture land.

Auckland Council has scheduled a freshwater survey of the upper reaches of the wetland.
