🌿 Great News for Conservation Mahi!
A far cry from last year’s challenges — this is a moment to celebrate! Auckland Council’s Natural Environment Targeted Rates (NETR) are delivering fantastic results and giving a real boost to local conservation work.
Here at Restore Rodney East, we want to congratulate everyone — volunteers, community groups, mana whenua, and project partners — on their RENH funding success. Your dedication and hard work are paying off in healthier forests, thriving wildlife, and stronger communities working together to protect what we love.

Thanks to this funding, groups can do more of what they do best — bringing people together to protect native bush, restore habitats, control pests, and create safe places for our birds and wildlife to thrive.
This year alone, community groups across Tāmaki Makaurau have contributed over 276,000 volunteer hours through NETR-supported projects — a huge testament to the passion and dedication of everyday people caring for their local patch.
The outcomes speak for themselves: healthier forests, more native birds, stronger partnerships, and practical tools and funding to help volunteers get on with the job.
At RRE, we know that when locals are empowered with the right support, we get results that last for generations. It’s encouraging to see funding like this continuing to back the hard work happening on the ground.
